  • Mentor Link provides a one to one mentoring service to children facing social or emotional difficulties in school. 

How to access the service

What is mentoring?

Mentoring provides children with an independent adult who listens and supports them with any difficulties they may be facing.

The mentor supports you by coming into school each week and taking you out of the classroom environment into a quiet area to  provide you with listening and therapeutic support in a one to one session. Our volunteer mentors are independent adults who provide, encouragement, information and friendship. All of the sessions are confidential except if there are Safeguarding concerns.

What does a mentor do?

  • Listens to you and offers support each week
  • Helps you organise your time
  • Shares experiences of life
  • Helps you with your studies
  • Helps with anxieties or difficulties
  • Talks to you as a trusted adult in confidence
  • Helps with relationships and self esteem

Mentor Link accepts referrals from:

  • Schools and educational settings
  • Healthcare professionals
  • Social workers and local authorities
