We provide sexual and reproductive health services for people living in Worcestershire.
About our service
We are the Worcestershire Integrated Sexual Health Service, also called WISH. We offer free, confidential sexual health support.
We are there to help anyone aged 13 and over. Young people and adults can come to us for confidential help, advice, and support. We can help with:
- Sexual health clinics and all types of contraception, including the pill and emergency contraception.
- Worries about sexually transmitted infections and testing.
- Vasectomy services.
- Pregnancy advice — always confidential, respectful and non‑judgemental.
- Support for people who might find it hard to use normal clinic services.
- Health promotion, helping people learn about sexual health and reduce stigma.
We work in sexual health clinics, in the community, and at local schools and colleges.
Our team is made up of professionals including:
- Specialist sexual health nurses
- GUM (Genitourinary Medicine) doctors
- Sexual and reproductive health doctor
- Healthcare support workers
- Admin staff who help keep the service running smoothly

Other support
Sexually transmitted infections (STIs)
Sexually transmitted infections (STIs) are common and can be passed on during sex or through sexual contact. Find out about symptoms and treatment on the NHS.uk website.
Sexual Assault Referral Centres (SARCs)
If you, a friend, or a family member needs advice or wants to contact The Glade, you can call them 0808 178 2058. This number is open 24 hours a day, every day of the year. Your call will be answered by a specially trained crisis worker. They are there to listen, support you, and explain your options. All crisis workers at The Glade are female.
Emergency contraception
If you have had unprotected sex and are concerned about pregnancy you may need emergency contraception. Emergency Contraception (sometimes known as the “Morning After Pill”) is available free of charge from WISH, your GP and lots of local pharmacies. It can prevent pregnancy after unprotected sex or if contraception has failed .E.g.: if a condom has split or you have missed a pill.
Pregnancy Advisory Service
If you think you might be pregnant, you should complete a pregnancy test. You can take a pregnancy test from the first day of your missed period. If you are unsure when your period is due, the earliest you should take a test is three weeks after the last time you had unprotected sex. If you are pregnant and want to discuss your options you can speak to staff at any of our sexual health clinics.
Brook
Brook is a charity providing free, confidential sexual health and wellbeing services, primarily for young people under 25.
