Child Development Team - Worcestershire

  • We are the Child Development Team (CDT), a group of professionals who meet regularly to coordinate multi‑professional support, identify your child’s needs, find appropriate services, and arrange further assessments such as for Autism or Global Developmental Delay.

  • Service hours: Monday - Friday 9:00am - 4:00pm

About the service

We meet regularly across the Worcestershire to discuss children who may have additional needs or require specialist help.  

  • To co-ordinate multi-professionals support
  • To highlight your child’s needs
  • To find any services that may be appropriate to your child
  • For further assessments e.g. for Autism, Global Development Delay

We gather information about your child from other professionals such as paediatricians, health visitor and therapists. We will only discuss your child your permission. Your views are highly valued and always asked for prior to the meeting. 

About your appointment

Children are only discussed wit the permission of their parents/carer and your views are highly valued and always asked for prior to the meeting. We invite you to complete the Parent Information form before your visit: Child Development Centre parent/carer information form.

Please share the Childcare Setting form with your child’s nursery/childcare setting, if they attend one. This information will be included in our discussion.

A member of the team will contact you following the meeting, to discuss the outcome with you.

A record of our discussions will be available on request.

Children's occupational therapy webinars

Our Children’s Occupational Therapy team offers free online webinars for parents and carers, providing practical advice and strategies to support children and young people at home.

Choose the webinar that best matches your child’s needs:

  • Making sense – for children with sensory sensitivities or difficulties affecting daily life. Book now.

What to expect:

  • Parent/carer-only sessions (children and young people should not attend)
  • Approximately 1 hour long delivered via Microsoft Teams
  • Opportunity to ask questions with an occupational therapist
  • Presentation slides shared after the session
