We support the health care needs of children and young people attending one of Worcestershire's Special Schools.
About the service
We support the school so they can care for the whole needs of children and young people. We mostly support them by training and advising school staff. But children can also choose to speak directly with us for support or advice. This can be on their own or with a parent or carer. Each school has a named Special School Nurse. But the nurse is not always based at the school.
We look at the health care needs of your child when they start school. They will give training to school staff. This is so school staff can safely look after your child at school. This will support them to achieve their full potential in both education and wellbeing. The team also provides Health Education to promote healthy lifestyles.
All children should have access to the right services, at the right time. This is to make sure they can reach their full potential. We also work with other agencies. This is to make sure the right professionals are involved for you and your child.
