We support families from pregnancy through childhood and the teenage years. Our service includes health visiting, school nursing, infant feeding and Smoke Free Homes.
About our service
We support all families with children and young people aged 0–19 who live in Worcestershire.
We check children’s health and development at important stages as they grow. We help with feeding, parenting, behaviour and emotional wellbeing. We support families who may need extra help. We work to keep children safe. We also offer specialist support. This is when there are worries about health, development or family circumstances.
Our service includes:
- Health visiting for children aged 0–5
- School nursing for young people aged 5–19
- Infant feeding support
- Smoke Free Homes — Support to stop smoking
We all work together to help children and young people. We want them to stay healthy, safe and well in their everyday lives. Our support is friendly, easy to reach and based on what you need.
Our team includes many different people who work together. These include;
- Health Visitors and School Nurses (Specialist Public Health Nurses)
- Community Staff Nurses
- Healthy Child Practitioners
- Infant Feeding Specialists
- Stop Smoking Support Workers
- School Health Support Workers
We also have a Business Support team who help keep our service running smoothly.

We see babies and young children. We check how they are growing, learning and developing. We give advice on:
- feeding
- sleep
- behaviour
We work with parents and other services to help families spot any extra needs early.
We support children and young people aged 5–19 in schools and the local community. We help with;
- physical and emotional health
- healthy lifestyles
- long-term conditions
- staying safe online.
We also measure children’s height and weight. This happens in Reception and Year 6 for the National Child Measurement Programme. Find out more about School health screening - School Screener.

We help families with breastfeeding, formula feeding or mixed feeding. We offer simple, clear advice to help parents feel confident when feeding their baby.
We help parents, carers and young people stop smoking. We do this by offering support and free Nicotine Replacement Therapy. All our teams work with families, GPs, schools and partners. This is to make sure children get the right help at the right time.

Clinics and face-to-face support:
- We run bookable clinics across Worcestershire where families can come and see us.
- If your baby is over 8 weeks old, you can also get feeding support. This is at your local Breast Buddies group.
